ABOUT DELIA ALLEYNE

Delia Alleyne is a Trinidad and Tobago fashion designer, born in Scarborough Tobago.

In the year 2008, Delia enrolled in the Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design at The University of Trinidad and Tobago as she wanted to broaden her scope in the area of fashion and design.

October 2009, she was invited to show in the Making Style Gala Fashion Show held in Tobago. Here she showed a collection that was entirely made of plastic.

In 2011 while at the Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design, Delia was the first runner up in the Designer Critic Award Show in the group that was mentored by Trinidadian Fashion Designer, Zadd and Eastman.  The designs from that Award Show have graced the catwalk of Tobago Fashion Weekend as part of the CAFD student collective presentation that same year.

2011 saw Delia on a larger scale when she was applauded for tutoring Miss Anya AyoungChee, the season 9 winner of Project Runway whilst still being a student at CAFD.

August 2012, Delia joined a cultural team that visited and showcased various aspects of Tobago's culture in Canada.

August of that same year Delia was awarded the Tobago Designer of the Year award by the Tobago Heritage Committee.

January 2013, Delia worked with the team headed by top Trinidad fashion designer Meiling to design costumes for the annual 3 Canal show titled “Planass”.

In February 2013, she traveled to Canada to showcase her thesis collection with 3 other graduates of The Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design at Ottawa Fashion Week.

April 2013, Delia worked with The Callaloo Company (Peter Minshall’s Mas Camp), under the recommendation of Meiling to outfit the cast for a Drew Manor event. In that same month, she showcased at the first installation of Tobago Fashion Coda at the Madgalena Grand Hotel in Tobago.

Steampunk revolution is her first collection since graduating from The University of Trinidad and Tobago. She showcased that line at Tobago Fashion Weekend in May, Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica in June and at CarifestaXI held in Suriname in August of 2013.

In November 2013 Delia Alleyne hosted an event titled “A Little Shindig”- style (shop to your leisure) event where ready-to-wear pieces were made accessible to customers.

Delia Alleyne continues to build her brand in 2014 she showcased at Tobago Fashion Weekend and Caribbean Fashion Week.

Her goal for the brand is to become recognizable throughout the Caribbean region and International region
